For a friend

I made this card on a lovely hot day and I think it influenced me in making it bright and colourful.
Lots of pink and turquoise which is my favourite colour combination at the moment. I used a Penny Black image that I had coloured about a year ago but it just never seemed to get used. So here it is and I think it worked perfectly on my doily die cut.
Just a quick reminder that the Penny Black and More challenge "Use a sentiment" is mid way. A nice and easy challenge for you with a chance to win some fabulous prizes. Pop over using the link to find the rules and list of prizes. The team have also made some fabulous inspiration cards for you.

Flowers for you

I have used one of my newest stamps for this card. It has to be my favourite at this present time and I have used it on several cards already. It works well on Birthdays, get well and thank you cards too.
I decided to go with an overall pink theme but after I put it together I wondered if I should have put another couple of colours in the bouquet. Oh well there it is, my Penny Black and More DT card for the month of July with the theme of using a sentiment. It is a monthly challenge so plenty of time to enter. Please use the blog link above to check out the rules and prizes before entering.

Things with wings

I love the colour combination of black, white and turquoise and I think it really worked well on this card. I used my new Penny Black stamp called Botanical Notes. I stamped the image twice so I could use the second image to layer up the butterfly and flowers with foam pads. I stamped another butterfly to use on the left of my card. I did minimal turquoise colouring on both butterflies to link them to the card layers and ribbon. To finish I added some beautiful turquoise dazzlers. I have a friend who would love this card so it will be put aside for her birthday.
This card is also my inspiration piece for the Penny Black and More June challenge which is butterflies. A nice easy challenge for you all and a whole month to enter. Please remember to read the full rules before entering. Click the link above to find the list of sponsors and the fantastic prizes you could win.

Flowers

Apologies for the photo distortion. I made and photographed this card quite quickly. There is very little space for me to get in my craft room at the moment as furniture from my bedroom is being stored in there while my bedroom is being decorated.
I used my new Penny Black stamp called Thanks a bunch which happened to be laying on my table after it had been delivered and not yet put away. I used whatever else came to hand but I did manage to die cut the butterfly and border. I used cabachons, pearls, stickles, an organza bow and sentiment to finish off my card. This is my inspiration card for the Penny Black and More challenge which is still live at the moment. The challenge is to use die cuts and a stamped focal image (no digis) and there is still plenty of time to enter. All the details and are on the PB blog.

Pretty in Pink

A pretty cute girly card for inspiration this month. I just love this Penny Black image and decided to use pink as the prominent colour. The challenge at Penny Black and More this month is dies and punches so I used a Tim Holtz medallion die to make make the large flower. I enhanced my card with a few embellishments to finish it off and am pleased with how it turned out.
If you want to enter a card into the challenge pop over to the PB blog and check out the rules and sponsors of the fabulous prizes up for grabs.

Penny Black Rise and Shine

For this card  I used a gorgeous Penny Black cling stamp called "rain or shine" which is an all time favourite of mine. I decided to leave the image uncoloured as the paper and embellishments are quite fussy. As it is mid month for the Penny Black and More challenge which is "Birthdays" this is my inspirational make. A nice easy challenge for everyone and there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs. Click the link above to take you to the blog to check out all the rules and the details of the prizes.

I used:-
Rubber Stamp - Penny Black "Rain or Shine" No 40-024
White card - Craftwork cards
Papers - Do crafts
Flowers and leaves dies -  Crealies
Butterfly die - Spellbinders
Mini wooden stamp sentiment - Stamp Tapestry
Organza ribbon and Stick on pearls - The Handcrafted card company
Lace - Misc.

Spring is in the air

Another month and another challenge at Penny Black and More. The theme for April is Birthdays. A nice and easy challenge and the prize sponsors this month are All Occasion dies, PPR papercrafts, Stamp Addicts and Marianne Designs.

On my card I used an old cute girly PB stamp called  Daydream No: 4077K. The stamp (released in 2010) is still one of my favourites. I added die cuts, lace, pearls and a sentiment to finish off my card.

Pink floral

The theme for the Penny Black and More challenge for March is Blossoms and Bows and this is my DT card. I used my new Penny Black slapstick stamp called Botanical Notes. I decided to water colour the image so I could give the flowers and leaves plenty of light and shade areas. I never seem to be able to do that with my Promarkers. I decided not to overdress my card and added minimal embellishments to finish it off.
If you would like to enter the PB challenge pop over to the blog using the link above and check out the details. There are several prizes up for grabs from Sponsors Penny Black, All occasion dies, Crafty ribbons, Sizzix and Marianne designs

Floral card

I bought a pack of lovely shaped cards at Ally Pally last year and this is the first card I have made using one of them. I fell in love with these pretty floral papers with their lovely soft pastel colours and decided they would be perfect for this shaped card. I was so pleased when it was finished as I achieved  this lovely floral garden scene.
